Attended the 1st 'NDMA-Facebook Disaster Response Summit' on 9th of November, 2017 at New Delhi.
1st Annual Disaster Response Summit jointly organised by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and Facebook at New Delhi at 'The Lalit', New Delhi. The aim of the summit was to introduce tools like Facebook Disaster Maps and Facebook Crisis Response to the participants. Disaster Maps, powered by Facebook’s technology and intensive research promises to address the critical gap in data that government organizations face when responding to a crisis.

Facilitated different sessions in the 'State-level Workshop on Cross Cutting Issues in DRR' organized from 9th to 10th of October, 2017.
During this State-level workshop organized by HP State Disaster Management Authority (HPSDMA) and HP Institute of Public Administration (HIPA), I facilitated sessions on 'Inclusion of Disability and Gender in Disaster Management' and 'Knowledge Management in Disaster Risk Reduction'.

Facilitated training sessions in the 'State-level Training of Trainers (ToT) Programme on Community Based  Disaster Preparedness' from 14th to 16th of September, 2017.
I facilitated sessions on 'Overview of Community Based Disaster Preparedness (CBDP)', 'Carrying out a Hazard, Risk, Vulnerability and Capacity Assessment (HRVCA)' and 'Preparation of Village Disaster Management Plan (VDMP)' during this State-level ToT jointly organized by HP State Disaster Management Authority (HPSDMA) and HP Institute of Public Administration.

Facilitated Training sessions on DM Centre at H.P. Institute of Public Administration (HIPA), Shimla.
In the month of September, 2017, I facilitated sessions on 'Introduction to Hazard, Risk & Vulnerability Analysis' and 'Use of Information Communication Technologies (ICTs) for DRR' in 4 different training courses organized by the Disaster Management Centre at HIPA, Shimla.

Attended the 'National Conference on Building Communities Resilient to Climate Change' from 25th to 26th of September, 2017 at New Delhi.
The conference was organized by the Consortium on Climate Change & Natural Environment – comprising of the organizations World Vision India, EFICOR, EHA and AFPRO. Issues discussed during the conference included- Climate-smart agriculture and sustainable livelihoods in a changing climatic scenario, community health and climate change, community preparedness & innovative response mechanisms to climate induced disasters and case studies and opportunities for civil society engagement in the State Action Plans on Climate Change.

Attended the 'State-level Conclave on Implementation of Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction (2015-2030)' from 30th to 31st of May, 2017 at Shimla, Himachal Pradesh.
The Himachal Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (HPSDMA) organized this conclave with the support of Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India and UNDP. Policy makers, government officials, disaster management practitioners, UN agencies, NGOs and representatives of media participated the conclave.

Participated in a 10-day Training Course on 'Community-Managed Disaster Risk Reduction (CMDRR)'
Participated in an intensive 10-day training course on Community-Managed Disaster Risk Reduction (CMDRR) from 14-24 March, 2017 at Indian Research Academy, New Delhi under the facilitiation of Mr. Rustico Binas and Dr. Jean Chu. Mr. Binas, a recognized Global Advisor for CMDRR, has worked with urban and rural communities in four different continents for 25+ years.

Participated in the 11th 'International Training Course on Disaster Risk Management of Cultural Heritage' at Kyoto, Japan from September 10 to 26, 2016.
From September 10 to 26, 2016, I participated in the UNESCO Chair Programme on Cultural Heritage and Risk Management, International Training Course (ITC) on Disaster Risk Management of Cultural Heritage 2016 at Kyoto, Japan. This course was organized by the Institute of Disaster Mitigation for Urban Cultural Heritage, Ritsumeikan University, Kyoto in cooperation with UNESCO, ICCROM, ICOMOS/ICORP.

Participated in the 3rd 'International Training Course on Managing Risk in the Face of Climate Change' at Bangkok, Thailand from March 10 to April 8, 2016.
From 28th of March to 8th of April, 2016, I participated in the 3rd International Training Course on Managing Risk in the Face of Climate Change, jointly organized by Asian Disaster Preparedness Centre (ADPC) and Wageningen UR at Bangkok. It was a wonderful learning experience which helped me to expand my understanding on the convergence of disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation.
